Has Ferrari lost the plot?

The past two races have been a barely mitigated disaster for Ferrari. At Silverstone a tactical blunder nixed Kimi Raikkonen’s victory chances, while Felipe Massa was all at sea in the wet conditions and spun five times on his way to finishing last.
But Sunday’s rout by Lewis Hamilton and McLaren at Hockenheim should perhaps be even greater cause for concern because it indicated that the Maranello squad has fallen behind its Woking rival on outright pace in dry conditions.
Question marks have also been raised about the performance of both Ferrari drivers – yet they remain only a handful of points adrift of Hamilton and very much in contention for the title.
Has Ferrari lost the plot? Is the team less slick operationally than in the Ross Brawn heyday, or has it just been the victim of circumstances? Are the drivers underperforming? Or is this a mere blip, presaging a Ferrari revival at tracks whose characteristics are more favourable to the F2008?
