Ferrari to stage proposals meeting

Ferrari have offered to host the next necessary talks on the technical direction of Formula 1 in compliance with Max Mosley’s recent demand for proposals to aid future change.
FIA president Mosley wrote to teams earlier in July calling for all ten to submit any proposals they had on the future direction of the sport within three months, after which the governing body would implement its own ideas.
A brief interim meeting was held at the Williams motor home over the weekend, but with concentration mainly on the German Grand Prix, little headway was made and teams will now meet at The Scuderia’s Maranello headquarters on July 9.
Key points on the agenda will be the discussion of proposals to cut the level of spending in the top flight and consideration of the latest technical proposals put forward by Mosley.
“[The meeting] will be used to discuss future changes, following Max Mosley’s letter,” Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali confirmed.
“It’s a good opportunity to share and discuss what are the views about the teams that are involved in the sport. Ferrari, and above all our president, is very keen to participate.
“Ferrari is part of F1 and Mr [Luca] Montezemolo is really keen on that.”
The meeting will be held just two days prior to the final deadline for entrants for 2009 and it has been suggested that what comes up at the meeting could have a bearing on what one or two teams decide to do in the future.
